Alan Armstrong

ALAN ARMSTRONG
GDC number 62846
BDS DUND (1987), DGDP (UK) 1995.

After graduating from Dundee University in 1987 Alan began his dental career in Fermanagh and joined the practice of Mr W Harbison, M Brown and Neale Armstrong in 1992.

Alan gained a DGDP from the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners in 1995. On the retirement of Mr W Harbison and M Brown in 1997 he joined his brother Neale as joint principal of the practice, then re-named as The Armstrong Dental Practice.

In the past Alan has acted as a Vocational Trainer helping to support new graduates in the progress of their general dental practice careers.

In a constantly changing environment of dental regulation Alan is keen to ensure that the Armstrong Dental Practice is kept fully up to date and as such the practice has been involved in the pilot and continues to be a member of the British Dental Association Good Practice Scheme working to a recognised national standard.

He is keen to ensure that all patients are involved in their treatment decisions and is happy to give clear explanations of what options are available from a full range of NHS treatments and also alternatives that may not be available under the terms of the NHS contract.

When not at work Alan enjoys spending family time with his wife and three children. This often involves watching the children play sport and sometimes having time for “slow” walking and cycling himself.
